Admissions Process

1. GET TO KNOW US

Applications are accepted year round. To be considered for enrollment in our Children’s House a child must be 36 months of age and able to use the bathroom independently.

Admissions Guidelines: Children’s House
We use the following criteria for accepting individual students:
●The child must be 36 months of age by September 1st and developmentally ready.
●There must be space in the classroom for the child of that age. We aim to create classrooms of balanced mixed ages.
●The child displays an ability and willingness to receive instruction and to learn.
●The child uses the bathroom independently or with minimum help.

Admissions Guidelines: Elementary
Readiness for the first year of the Elementary program will be determined by the Children’s House and Lower Elementary teachers when a child moves up from Nature Walk Children’s House. When a student transfers from another educational setting, whether in first grade or later, readiness will be assessed by the classroom teacher based on:
● Parents interview with classroom teacher and/or Head of School
● Student’s classroom visit
● Documentation provided (teacher recommendation form, transcripts, IEPs, other educational records, etc).

Visitors take a tour of our classrooms and outdoor spaces. Prospective families will have the opportunity to see a classroom in action and to meet some of the school staff. Parents are also invited to schedule a time to observe a classroom work period without their child present.
